Arriving at Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is Malaysia's main international airport, located approximately 45km south of Kuala Lumpur city center. The airport consists of two main terminals:
KLIA Main Terminal

Serves most international airlines and long-haul flights.

KLIA2 Terminal

Primarily serves low-cost carriers like AirAsia.

From the Airport to the City
KLIA Ekspres

★★★ Best Choice

The fastest way to reach the city center. This non-stop express train takes just 28 minutes to KL Sentral (the main transportation hub in Kuala Lumpur). Trains depart every 30 minutes from 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM.

Fare: Approximately MYR 55 one-way

Airport Taxi

Taxis are available at both terminals. Purchase a taxi coupon from the counters before exiting the arrival hall. The journey takes 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.

Fare: Approximately MYR 80-100 to city center

Ride-Hailing Services

Grab is the most popular ride-hailing service in Malaysia. Download the app before arrival for convenience. Pick-up points are designated at specific areas at both terminals.

Fare: Approximately MYR 65-80 to city center

Airport Bus

Several bus services operate between KLIA/KLIA2 and KL Sentral. This is the most economical option but takes longer (60-90 minutes).

Fare: Approximately MYR 10-15

Arrival Tip

Consider getting a local SIM card at the airport for easy access to maps, ride-hailing apps, and communication. Major telecommunications providers have counters in the arrival halls of both terminals.

Transportation

Getting Around Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur has an extensive public transportation network that makes getting around the city quite convenient. The Majestic Hotel is centrally located, making it easy to access many attractions.

Getting to the Conference Venue

The Majestic Hotel is conveniently located near KL Sentral, making it easily accessible:

  • 10-minute walk from KL Sentral station
  • 5-minute taxi/Grab ride from KL Sentral (approximately MYR 8-10)
Public Transportation
LRT (Light Rail Transit)

The LRT system has several lines connecting different parts of the city. The closest station to the Majestic Hotel is the KL Sentral station, which is about a 10-minute walk.

Fare: MYR 1.20 to MYR 5.50 depending on distance

MRT (Mass Rapid Transit)

The newest addition to KL’s public transport system, providing fast connections to various parts of the city and suburbs.

Operating hours: 6:00 AM to midnight

Fare: Similar to LRT

Monorail

A convenient way to travel around the Golden Triangle area (main shopping and entertainment district).

Operating hours: 6:00 AM to midnight

Fare: MYR 1.20 to MYR 2.50

GO KL City Bus

Free bus service that covers major tourist spots in the city center. Look for the bright purple buses.

Operating hours: 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Other Transportation Options
Taxis

Widely available throughout the city, but always ensure the driver uses the meter.

Fare: MYR 3 for first 1km + MYR 0.10-0.20 for each additional 115m

Always insist on using the meter
Ride-Hailing (Grab)

Very popular and often more convenient than traditional taxis. Fares are fixed and shown upfront.

Fare: Typically MYR 5-25 for trips within the city

Transportation Tip
